We provide specialized improvement services for Job Shops that deliver goods faster, at lower cost, and with less inventory.  This means improved business performance in customer service, profitability and with working capital.

Job Shops require a unique approach to improvement because customer orders are largely non-repetitive and may not be heavily assembly oriented. In addition, job shops typically have specialized manufacturing processes geared to their customer's requirements.  This High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV) business is characteristic of job shops and is quite different than the typical Low-Mix High-Volume (LMHV) environment.  The Ohio State University and specifically, Dr. Irani has developed a set of tools and approaches specifically for Job Shops which have repeatedly demonstrated success in Job Shops.  These tools adapt the Lean Manufacturing approach to work specifically for Job Shops and is call JobShop Lean.

The approach to Job Shops require more analysis in the assessment phase to define and segment the products into appropriate product families; and often requires additional technology such as finite capacity scheduling to gain flexibility. We now have direct access to these JobShop Lean tools and to Dr. Irani through our partnership with him.
