Computer Monitor Repair Facility (Dell supplier): Objective was to improve labor productivity, increase capacity, and reduce cycle time. Business assessment and roadmap completed. One-piece flow process and layout developed with balanced work. Implemented turnkey conveying system with inline repair consisting of four cells that operate two shifts. Eliminated hand-carts for lifting and implemented metrics tracking. Reduced cost per unit by 25%. Increased capacity by 12%. Reduced cycle time from 5 days to 99% completed within 1 day.
Rapid Acquisition of Manufactured Parts (Navy): Company President, Jerry Hoskins, was the system engineer for this program while employed by Battelle. This was a large multi year project that developed a system for printed wiring assemblies and machined parts to allow the Navy to procure out of production printed wiring assemblies and machined parts quickly. These systems were developed and then implemented in several Navy, Air Force, and Army depots and logistics centers.
Pharmaceutical Subscription Preparation: Designed new layout and process integrate pharmacists into process with mail order, internet orders, fax orders and the Dr. call center. Major improvement in productivity achieved.
5S Training - US Government Printing Office: Provided 5S training for secure document business in Washington, DC and Stennis, MS. Trained workers and management. Provided materials.
Inspection Equipment Overhaul Process: Developed process for overhaul of high speed glass inspection equipment. Included cleaning, disassembly, assembly, test, stocking, and procurement.
Overhaul of Truck Transmissions: Developed overhaul process to dramatically improve the labor utilization and throughput for truck automatic transmissions that get pulled off rental trucks and overhauled.
